Hello Paper, I'm Pen…

The Daily Life

I Have Not

This is my first post to my blog in over a year. That in itself is pretty tragic.

I intend to change that.

And For These I Give Thanks

Again, I am attempting to get back into the swing of things (as I have been for the last two years or so– humor me). As I am certainly not at the point to jump back into story writing head-on, I figured it would be a nice change of pace to do some daily life updates here and there.

Where do I start? a synopsis of my year so far….maybe?….or maybe just a reminder of all that I am thankful for.

2016 I Thank You:

  • You’ve taught me much about love and life in itself.

  • You’ve brought me much tears. Even more so I’ve been blessed with an abundance of love and laughter that even I cannot begin to comprehend.
  • You’ve blessed me with the perfect little human growing inside of me. One of life’s greatest gifts (move over Santa, my gift is way better!)

  • You’ve taught me to challenge myself, aim even higher and that wading out into murky waters has its benefits.
  • You’ve taught me that a change in career fields was not a matter of qualification but rather a matter of work ethics and how well I apply myself.
  • You’ve taught me that nature itself is a healing force.

  • You’ve taught me to appreciate the beauty of travel and what it does for the soul.

  • And above all you’ve taught me the value of family, friends and self love.loveAt times I’ve felt 2016 has been my most challenging year. But then I look back at all that has transpired and remain humble and truly thankful. Thankful for life, love, happiness, success and all that I’ve experienced.

Update: Featured Section

Hi all,

The Featured Writers category will be unavailable until further notice.

I Don’t Think I’ve Shared…

I don’t think I’ve shared my new do with my blog. I cut my hair off about a month ago 🙂

Dear Universe

Dear Universe,

I am calling out to you right now, I am not sure if you’re even listening. But if you are, I ask for tolerance, peace, and never ending cosmic balance.

I know that my deeds may not always reflect the pureness of my thoughts. I know that I need far more than a bandage to mend my damaged heart. I know that I am young and far from wise.

I seek your light. A beacon leading to the path for which I was destined to tread. I seek your light, in this extreme hour of darkness.  I seek your light because I am no longer sure of what to seek.

Universe, in my hour of need I seek only the purest of vibes, an ever present reminder that my pleas have not fallen on deaf ears.

I will continue to seek. Until then… Peace and light.

I’ve Decided To Break From Blogging/ Writing For A Few Months

I’ll be making the blog private. No posts. I will notify all upon my return.

Christmas Cheer Update

I’ve been grossly lacking in Christmas cheer this year ( oh the rhyme!). Though  I’ve never been big on celebrating holidays, this year falls flat in terms of spirit and enthusiasm. I have however been in the mood to bake. See my little trials below 🙂

Smiling hurts, you know that right?
As I approach the ripe old age of 26, I’ve become “obsessed” with looking more “grown up” and “stylish”…..Please, humor me.

Surround yourself with happiness. Success is on the Horizon.

Why I Write

It is not the need to impress that drives me,

My desire to go beyond the limit of my potential does.

Thankful for peace, prosperity and grace. Whatever form each has touched my life in, I will always remain thankful.

On My Way To Heaven

Don’t Watch The Look On My Face

Change may not always be negative. We learn from each experience–the good, the bad and the in between. Ultimately, we are defined by our ability to champion life’s challenges.

The Human Connection

How does one define, obtain and maintain the human connection? is it as innate as one’s ability to breathe?

I’m Back

I suppose we can say i’m “back”.  A few months ago I noticed that my creativity plummeted to an all time low. I took that as my cue to distance myself from writing.  I believe my time away helped , I haven’t quite figured out how…..  but I think I am ready to share with you again.

I am certainly out of practice and it definitely will take time for me to get back into the swing of things. For now, i’m content with being  just “back”.

I’m Still Around

Not much of a writer anymore.

Final Post — Thank You

download (2)

It is with deep regret that I share this post. My final blog post. I have decided that I no longer want to write. I do not want to share. I don’t want to have an online writing presence.

I am forever grateful for all the kind people who have given me their support through this journey. Your kind words of encouragement have kept me grounded.

I am thankful to and for all of you who have contributed to the success of this blog. Maybe at some point in the future I will revisit this venture. But for now this is it. There are a few things I have to figure out, and do so with a clear mind. Other writers and creatives will understand how difficult this is.

Thank you all.

We Salute our Heroes: Past and Present

To all the brave men and women who have served and continue to serve in the United States Armed Forces:  Thank You.

We are forever grateful for the unending sacrifices that you have made to keep this great nation safe. We often overlook the sacrifices you all have made and continue to make to preserve our freedom. We often overlook that members of the armed forces have their own families—families they leave at home in order to serve, they have close friends—people who love them, people who all worry about their personal safety. We often forget that these men and women put their own personal life goals on hold because of their duty to serve and protect.

As we take this moment to reflect upon this; remember all of the sacrifices our service men and women have made and continue to make for us and this great country.Think of  all the precious moments these men and women have missed for our sake:

Precious moments:

Baby’s first step – a moment that no parent wants to miss.

Milestones—first day of school, first recital, and first day at first job—milestones no family member  would want to miss.

Family birthdays–the joy of celebrating a first birthday, a sweet sixteen, a twenty first or half of a century with  loved ones.

Wedding Anniversaries—many of our service men and women don’t get to be home for these moments.

A son, daughter, sister or brother’s graduation ceremony.

The memorial service for a loved one, or just the simple beauty of family gatherings.

As you serve, we know you long to be home with the ones you love, yearn to share in the beauty of these precious moments. We know that it takes a strong will, a brave heart and unending courage to do what YOU do, and for that we salute you.

Happy Veterans Day!
